CAS WEEK 2010
NOVEMBER 1ST- 5TH
IS Year 8 Camp 2009 from Island School on Vimeo.
Island School’s CAS Week is a valued part of the Island School Curriculum. Every year for a period of a week the normal school curriculum is suspended and students are given the opportunity to develop themselves along different lines.
CAS stands for CREATIVITY, ACTION AND SERVICE; these elements are at the heart of the student CAS Week experience. It is hoped that Island School students will experience a variety of these activities during their time at the school. For our students in Year 12 and 13 in particular, emphasis is placed on developing Creativity, Action and Service experience as part of their core Island School and IB Diploma experience.
This year our students will be involved in a wide range of experiences both in Hong Kong and overseas; CAS Week is a compulsory part of our curriculum, something that we feel provides our students with avenues for personal growth and development. In particular providing challenging experiences and opportunities to support each other and the local community.
DETAILS OF TRIPS AND ACTIVITIES FOR CAS WEEK 2010 WILL BE POSTED IN EARLY FEBRUARY, ALONG WITH DETAILS OF CHANGES TO THE SIGN UP PROCEDURE.
Thanks to Thomas Ting 13D and Stewart Standaloft 13D for their great film
